On my photographic wanderings, I sometimes catch a glimpse of places where time seems to have stopped and their inhabitants (if there are any) live a completely different life. I like to call this the “simple life,” even though it’s everything but simple. It is a harsh and difficult life. But honest and sincere. I am often granted permission to take these photos and gifted with a smile, sometimes we speak, exchange a few words, and every time I return to “my world” I feel enriched and grateful for each encounter. The formula is simple: you give a smile – you get a smile 🙂
